Huh?  What church do you belong to?  The church of Imagining Mormonism in the Worst Possible Light if it is True or Not?

No, I belong to the Church of Taking Priesthood Holders at Their Word When They Say They Don't Want Women Disrupting Their Sacred Convocations Irrespective of Whether It is True Or Not.

It's ironic that you think me believing what they say is seeing Mormonism in the worst possible light.

Someone help me here. What criticisms might be made of this group getting together to talk about the Church that do not also apply here?

Nothing, as far as I can tell.  I think they have more fun, though.

The problem I see with such groups is that they quickly devolve into I want to complain about the Church sessions.

It's true, its probably not much different than here.  Some people want to complain about the Church and some don't, some want balance and some prefer defensiveness, or offensiveness.  That's the great thing about groups of people, there is always the opportunity for diversity.

Of course.  Everyone wants their meetings disrupted.

What was I thinking?

It is totally unreasonable to expect religious observances to not be disrupted.  After all, this is America.
