TheSkepticChristian Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 (edited) Many conservative LDS in Utah are probably very happy about the fact that our church has a political position on marijuana. "At least one and possibly two senators have abandoned their support of a medical-marijuana bill pending in the Utah Legislature after the LDS Church issued a statement opposing the measure." http://www.sltrib.com/home/3515194-155/mormon-church-opposition-to-marijuana-bill but they are not so happy about the Catholic's church position on ... Where do you get the idea that "LDS in Utah" aren't happy about Pope Francis? How do you know this? Are "LDS in Utah" happy about different things than members of the church in other areas? Not sure why you are singling out one group of saints.

Sky Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I'd be more than happy to see the LDS Church take a stand on climate change issues, similar to what the Pope has done. There are glimmers of hope, though. Like this: http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/environmental-stewardship-conservation It just doesn't seem to have gotten to many of the members. I'm also not as conservative as most LDS members, and I don't live in Utah.
