Note that this is 1200 AD, so probably not Book of Mormon civilization.  

Church critics (and even Bible ones) often talk about the absence of proof as though that is proof of non-existence.   The civilization that was dug up near the NJ mall a few months ago, and this story, seem pretty convincing evidence that we do not know what we do not yet know.
