If you think the peer review process is perfect then, in my opinion, you are as naïve as I am ludditional( sic ) . To clarify, I have no dog in the Sorenson fight. I am speaking of peer review in a general sense not in his specific case. I'm sure you can name three non- Mormon scholars, one of whom is an outstanding cartographer, that have spent 10 or more years doing in depth studies of the BoM text, so that they can critique Sorenson's work with authority. Then again, we must await his submissions, which may never come.

OK. Skip the peer review issue. Name one PhD archaeologist, LDS or otherwise, who has risked his career with a professional statement that he or she thinks that there is a MesoAmerican setting for the BoM. (Not even Joseph Smith believed that.)

Don't get me wrong. I am not a critic of the Church or of the Book of Mormon. I am a critic of those who seek to disagree with Amazon sales.

You made some valid points. From my point of view it's like telling horse buggy makers in a modern age that there is a better alternative to the horse and buggy.

And the horse and buggy makers stubbornly are unable to come to terms with the facts

The horse and buggy is the meso American model the better alternative is the North American model and the horse and buggy makers are meso American experts.

I think that is a good parable.
