The black community pulled out all the stops for this and the Church. Pretty awesome to see.Looked good from the Internet stream. Is Sherri Camp a Church member? I wondered when she said she was a family history consultant in her church.

No, I don't think Sherri is a member, I didn't get that idea when we interviewed her, but I could be wrong.

Here is the text of the most recent page I have been working on (from Cuthbert, Randolph County, Georgia, sometime between 1865 and 1872): and pays the expence if is unpaid he is imprisoned and charged about one dollar per day and kept there until some person hires them and pays the expences if is taken the whole year. Who is the author of this letter (Mr. "Slaughter")? The cursive script used is quite good. Based on this, and on the author's apparent familiarity with the judges in the area, and on the formal language used, I suspect Slaughter was an attorney retained to represent freed slaves in legal proceedings.
