Stargazer Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 If you are not a programmer, you have probably not heard of the Ruby programming language, but you "use" it all the time when you are online. There are many major websites on the web today that were built using Ruby, and though I am not a Ruby programmer (I keep saying, "One of these days"), I am very pleased that Ruby's inventor is a Japanese member of the LDS Church: Yukihiro Matsumoto. He is known among the programming community as "Matz". Mormon.org Profile and video: http://www.mormon.org/matz Wikipedia article on Matz: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yukihiro_Matsumoto 2

oMtonic Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I'm a Software Engineer in my profession, but I've actually never used Ruby. He seems like a nice guy. Cool!

In fact, Matz has such a reputation for niceness, that there is a motto in the Ruby community: MINASWAN. Matz Is Nice, And So We Are Nice.
