Piltdown Man was considered the truth by the scientific community. Elder Talmage did believe the Piltdow man was real, but that he was not related to Adam. Obviously you didn't read what Elder Talmage wrote, Elder Talmage did believe in death before the Fall, and he also believed in pre-Adamites. It was probably zero, based on the absence of dissertations in Piltdown bibliographies It was the scientists that proved it was a hoax, not the creationists, and there was no evil scientific community that rejected the evidence. Assuming they did evolve from lower hominids my guess they would be resurrected to their most perfect form. I have to clarify although I believe its possible [evolution], I do not know if Heavenly Father used that process or not. All I know is there is abundant proof of life before 6000 years ago (before Adam). There are also some traits that support evolution, for example reptile to birds, many scientist believe birds are a form of evolution from some dinosaurs they are very close in many traits as are humans and chimpanzees (we are both hominids). We LDS believe in progression much of our doctrine teaches us of different types of progression; from worldly to throwing off the natural man. We have symbolism of progression in our most sacred buildings, we believe one day (probably millions of years from now) we could become like our Father in Heaven. We believe the resurrection makes our corrupt bodies in-corrupt. Repentance is a form of change it makes us spiritually better, cleaner and worthier... If evolution was used in part of our creation then it would not go against this pattern that is so prevalent in our doctrine. This is a new way to look at it I know, but to me it helps bring together a harmonic balance between science and religion. I do not think of myself as a creationist however, I do believe that Heavenly Father knows all the laws of science and I would not be surprised if he uses them while we as pitiful mortals have no clue how it is done we can only guess, and I am willing to bet our guesses have been wrong and will continue to be wrong until we grow and learn more and, well become more like our Father in Heaven the closer to that the better we will be at answering these questions. Having said all that I could be 180' in the wrong direction, I could be 100% wrong, even being that wrong and that far from the truth, the atonement allows all my errors to be forgiven, and one day I hope to stand before my maker and just thank him and even that will be inadequate.

Piltdown Man was considered the truth by the scientific community. Joseph Fielding Smith believed man would never be in space or on the moon. Mormon prophets can be wrong just like every other mortal human. Time to move on.

You´re saying we live on a "previously owned " world? Does that make Genesis and the Torah a used car saleman´s handbook?
