Without getting into the APA's gay bias, and without getting into the studies that show otherwise, let's assume that the manual is correct, and ask what bearing this has on the topic of this thread.

Does it somehow disprove the secondary premise of the thread (that there may be a relationship between the gay movement and pedaphilia and the increased sexualization of young children)?

No, of course it doesn't. It simply suggests another area of concern.

Does it address the primary premise of the thread (that children are increasingly being sexualized at younger ages)?

I don't see that it does.

What the APA, and all other professional mental health organizations, say is that homosexuals are no more subject to mental illness than heterosexuals are. That homosexuality is not a mental illness in and of itself.

There is a very small relationship between homosexuality and pedophilia. Some 90% is the relationship of heterosexuality to pedophilia.

The sexualization of children is a major concern of mental health professionals including the APA.

But the homosexuality isn't the cause of the sexualization/pedophilia of children.

That you object to the teaching of a 5 year old the difference between appropriate touching and inappropriate touching is telling.

And I thank you, Wade. In this debate the near hackneyed analogy of the frog in the slowly heating pan of water applies. The secret to the pervasive blindness to our awful situation is that the destructive changes to the mores and popular culture of our society happen oh so gradually.

To those blind to the danger, they falsely perceive that for the most part life continues as normal. The sun continues to rise each morning, personal and family routines for the most part remain the same, life seems to go on as normal; and even those who have been taken in and changed for the worst by the deception still smile, laugh, hug their kids, joyfully celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas, take their grand kids to Disney World and cry at their daughter's wedding. The Lord refers to this phenomenon here:

One of the adversary's greatest weapons is something called patient gradualism. This strategy was a favorite of Antonio Gramsci's. The way the strategy works can be likened to a beautiful and apparently sound home of wood, being slowly consumed from within by tiny, seemingly innocuous looking carpenter ants or termites. On their own one of these ants or termites could inflict very little damage indeed; but get enough of these mini-creatures working together in concert, and now you've got a big very problem. All too often one is unaware of the ongoing destruction until it's too late. Please read more carefully. The introductory portion of the opening post that you quoted, NEVER CLAIMED THAT THE ARTICLE SUPPORTED IT (capped for your benefit). Rather, it was the primary thesis stated in a subsequent paragraph that supported it. Do you now get it?

It s funny that in your own opening post you falsely accused me of lying, and in so doing, you proved yourself a liar by your own criteria, and instead of this giving you even the least pause, you are now spewing yet another misunderstanding on your part (without carefully reading through and giving appropriate contemplation to the OP and the tempering post I suggested you read), and yet you have the gall to claim I am the one who would do anything to justify my alleged agenda, and that I am unChristlike. Trully amazing!

But, then, it isn't so amazing when I again realize just how upside-down a world I now live in.

There are a few hot button topics that have required aggressive moderation to maintain an environment that is inviting. Offensive comments about same sex attraction are not going to be accepted on this board. That includes such things as any comparison, analogy, or even mention of animals or criminals or criminal acts in an attempt to defend a position. Likewise, those that disagree with the Mormon church's position http://www.mormonsandgays.org/ on this matter are expected to do it respectfully. The use of old and outdated information for anything but historical context will also not be tolerated.

We do not tolerate race baiting attacks on the church and we will not tolerate offensive comments about gays [no matter how politely they are offered] under the guise of defending the church. We value our posters no matter what their orientation.

Does Wade get a free-pass on this, Chaos?

But the article might very well have something to do with the opening statement. You see, the jury's still out as to whether normalization of homosexuality -- amongst other things (e.g. legalization of pornography, widspread acceptance of premarital sexual relations, pervasive mockery of virginity, etc) -- is a contributory factor to the collapse of the moral barriers that would otherwise help prevent the sexualization of children.
