thesometimesaint Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Who told you that?Depends on how you look at it. Science by design can not posit any Supernatural force or God(s). Scientists OTOH can believe in any number of God(s) or none at all.
semlogo Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Depends on how you look at it. Science by design can not posit any Supernatural force or God(s). Scientists OTOH can believe in any number of God(s) or none at all.Exactly. The question of God's existence is outside the purview of science, since it is not falsifiable. In other words, science is silent on the question of God's existence. Scientists on the other hand have their own viewpoints.
BCSpace Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 according to a more thourough reading of scripture, the earth was only prepared to bring forth life up through the first 6 days of creation. no actual life was on the earth until two things happened on the seventh day of creation.Sure. For a very long time, the earth would appear quite barren to anyone who saw it. With a 4.6 billion year old earth, multicellular life did not appear until about 1 billion years ago. Land plants not until 675 million years ago; nothing with seeds until 400 million years ago.
blackstrap Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 And a seed is a most marvelous of life forms. It can lay domant for centuries and, given the correct environs, will sprout and develop into a plant which will reproduce. Funny how that was accomplished by natural selection acting on random mutations. But I degress>
kenporay Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Science rules out supernatural explanations. God is defined as supernatural, ergo god is not a suitable explanation when using the scientific method. I'm perfectly good with that...but you cant use the scientific method where it doesnt apply...example coke tastes better than pespsi. The scientific method is a contrivance of man used to aid in understanding how things work. Its a supervaluable tool. But it's only a tool...you can use a screw driver where a toilet snake would be more appropriate but the results will suffer.

The evidence shows seeds beginning in the upper Devonian and becoming widespread in the middle Devonian. Before that, spores were the order of the day.
