inquiringmind Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball both taught extensively that Outer Darkness will consist of those intelligence being ripped away from spirit and physical matter, and those intelligences starting over from the very beginning (they remain inherently evil, as intelligence cannot be created). If they remain inherently evil, what would be the point in starting over? Also, did Brigham and Heber conceive of unorganized intelligences as self-aware, conscious personalities? rongo Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If they remain inherently evil, what would be the point in starting over?I think because (as both taught), every world has its own tempter and Savior. Given that there are inherently evil intelligences (not created), and given the need in the plan of salvation for that role, there is "demand" in "the system" for them, and these particular intelligences are so evil that they will always fill this role. Also, did Brigham and Heber conceive of unorganized intelligences as self-aware, conscious personalities? They didn't address this directly. It's a deep, deep question to think about. Intelligence has a nature (good, bad, etc.), but whether that translated to "self-awareness" or consciousness, who can say?

Rob Osborn Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Yes, but what would that do to the person experiencing the totality of NOW, as "God" does? Wouldn't that change the mind of that person into the mind of "God"? It would effectively "absorb" that person's ID, individuality, back into the Cause of Existence....Hold up, how could someone be outside this "space time"? This isn't science fiction.
