mfbukowski Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 It's surprising how many strange ideas there are about 2nd Anointings vs Calling & Election. All the information is available in scriptures, historical documents, and prophetic teachings.Oh sure, ok. Uh huh.
mfbukowski Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Suppose only apostles and their spouses are eligible to receive this annointing. In that case, how is receiving it "discriminatory"? Are we now competing for callings to the apostleship? Vote for ME! Cause I want to know all about this!
mfbukowski Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) Oh I'll never be worthy of that. No wonder probably it's reserved for General Authorities and high leadership position people. Makes sense. Hopefully the rest of us can receive it during the millennium or something.I think I have said this before, but a temple president has told me that it is his belief that all receive it before entering paradise- all who qualify that is No unclean thing can enter paradise, and washing of the feet makes one clean- not through one's faithfulness, but having already shown that, it is a complete cleansing. Remember that shaking the dust off the feet is a curse. Dust on the feet represents the blood and sins of this generation. Metaphorically, just walking around in the muck we walk around in every day, soils us with that blood and sins. Imagine walking through a spiritual pasture filled with spiritual muck. Some of it is going to stick. The billboards, the pornography everywhere, news of murder and death- heck just turn on TV. It gets inside us. Washing the feet is a metaphor for being clean every bit. Sisters that will sound familiar. You don't have to worry about it, sisters. If you don't understand what I am saying you need to do more initiatories with your favorite member of the opposite sex and talk about it. Edited October 25, 2014 by mfbukowski 3
EllenMaksoud Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 In the Church at large we do not practice washing the feet of others. If it occurs anywhere else in the Church, the temple for example, it occurs only rarely. We don't really have anything similar to Maundy Thursday where feet are washed of others in celebration of Christ washing the feet of the first Apostles. On the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in the Hospital de San Nicolas, a restored church, the monks will often wash the feet of all the pilgrims who stay. There may be another albergue where they wash the feet of each pilgrim. It is a very touching event and almost every pilgrim I have talked to about their eperience has been touched deeply by such an experience.Thank you for saying that. I was about to feel extremely hurt because there is yet one more thing I can not participate in. I'm having a warm chocolate and going to bed.
mfbukowski Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 And I'm wondering if the second anointing is necessary for exaltation or what the point of it is.All we have to worry about for exaltation is passing God's "audition" We need not worry about pleasing anyone but Him. 1
mfbukowski Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Let's say that I doubt your word. Those that receive, do not talk about it lightly or easily. It would not be broadcast at the family reunion. I will not debate this issue with you; your actions on this Board cause me to doubt you on many levels. The Second Anointing is not receiving your calling of election. Agreed. In fact talking about it would prove that one was not ready to receive it, or if one received it already, it would prove that one was actually unworthy of receiving it. Pride goeth before the fall 1
