In better understanding the delegate issue when Santorum was to be setting up all these delegates in other states, he was campaigning in Iowa out of the back of a pickup truck and didn't have the organization to have everything set up especially since he was at 2% at the time. He's not eligible for something like 10 to 15% of the upcoming Illinois delegates.

This is a better pill to swallow than the 'super delegates.'

Don't know. But Illinois has a bit of a North/South split with the Northern part being more liberal, and the Southern part more conservative. Kinda like California with its North/South split.

I think in terms of regions, the cities will vote for Romney while the rural counties will go for the more conservative bent. Perhaps more demographically and economically driven than a like or dislike of a particular religion, though Chi town has a very heavy Catholic minority, about a third.

But even in ALB. and FLOR. it was close. Frankly, Im suprised that Romney did as well as he did. Does anyone know where we can lookup how he did in 2008 in those states? That might be a goot litmus test to see if people are warming up to him.

Someone on Michael Medved's radio show a few days ago said that it was a good thing the nomination is not yet "locked up" as it was in 2008 about this time, and for this reason: since the Obama campaign does not yet know who they are going to be fighting, they must wait to attack until after the convention.

All I can say about this is that the Obama campaign will simply be able to concentrate their attack better if they have to wait until after the convention.
