BTW, I love the irony that you feel qualified to channel the thoughts of "most Jewish people".

I love the irony of you taking somebody to task for that. I don't see any Jewish folks arguing this matter here on the board. The one making the most noise about it is you.

Jaybear:

I doubt that there is more than a few Jews that know I exist, let alone care what I believe. I say a few because we have a member of our Ward that converted from Judahism. He and his family know that I exist.

Heck I doubt many let alone most Christians including LDS Christians know I exist.

If you found my observation to be "ironic," then you obviously don't know what the word "irony" means.

If you had actually read what I wrote, you would note I did not express any offense to baptisms of Anne Frank. I really don't care. I was commenting on the desperate absurdity of blaming the recent baptism on "anti-mormon" agitation.

I enjoy a good laugh in the morning.

BTW, are there any Jewish members of the board. If not, I don't think it makes sense to draw any conclusions about what Jews think, from the absence of comments from Jews on this board.

The irony is you have no more ability to divine the attitudes of most Jewish people on this matter than does Mola.

It is a reasonable conjecture under the circumstances.

As far as I know, the board does not exclude anyone, Jewish or otherwise, from registering for an account here.

Huh. I don't care one bit about your proxy baptisms. What have I said, that would lead you to make that comment?

BTW, I love the irony that you feel qualified to channel the thoughts of "most Jewish people".

Have you been to the KSL website dude and read the comments under the story? All of the nah sayers are not even Jewish.

In fact there are no Jewish people in this thread. I don't pretend to know the minds. What I see is a bunch of other people whining about it. I have no doubt that some Jews are not thrilled about our practice. but the fact that I have not read any comments from Jews, but that of other religious or non religious peoples, the reason for my comments. And I am not saying that you take issue with proxy baptisms. What you take issue is, which has nothing to do with you what so ever, is that the church has a policy to not do BfD on Jewish Holocaust victims, unless they are done by direct family. And in this instance some how they were done. We all agree that they should not have been done. The big burning question I have is :Who did them? Who submitted the names originally?

Given the level of contempt for the "hypersensitive" concerns of the Jewish community expressed by the LDS members on this board, I suspect its more likely done by a members that shares your contempt.

Given the level of contempt for the rules around name submissions required for this nonsense, I suspect it is more likely done by someone who shares your contempt for the Church of Jesus Christ.

What exactly did I say that could conceivably be construed by any rational adult as "self-righteous"?

Your entire statements can reasonably be viewed that way.

That aside, it is both interesting and relevant to my point, that you would blatantly violate the rules of the forum which clearly prohibit personal attacks, and yes labeling me a "highly-prejudiced busy body" is by definition a personal attack. Applying the logic expressed here, I suppose it would be rational to assume that Wade is an anti-Mormon agitator seeking to bring embarrassment to the forum.

Here you are personally attacking me (and name-calling) in relation to my personally attacking your personal attack of LDS participants on this thread. No irony deficiency here.

Where did I purport to divine the attitudes of "most Jewish people."

Your entire statements can reasonably be viewed that way.

How exactly does that work?

Here you are personally attacking me (and name-calling) in relation to my personally attacking your personal attack of LDS participants on this thread. No irony deficiency here.

Lets see, you think I personally attacked you and called you names because I pointed out the absurdity of accusing you of being an "anti-Mormon" agitator.

Wade, I don't really see the point in having further discussion with you. If you honestly think I was insulting you, and calling you names, I have obviously completely failed to communicate my thoughts, opinions and ideas to you.

Good luck to you.

If you think that I thought you had insulted me, then I must have communicated things I did not think or say. I am not sure how that may have happened, but good luck to you as well.
