BCSpace Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Socialism with a facist leader was a horrible idea and should definitely go the way of the Dodo bird. But, there is nothing wrong with (and a lot right about) Democratic Socialism, if that's what the people want and what they vote for. (My opinion)There's no difference between the two in terms of outcome. The latter, by definition, is essentially a slower and more subtle way to get to the former as opposed to revolution. Vote by vote, one slowly runs out of options until there is no voting at all except as window dressing. The result is the same whether there is one strong man or a majority of them and either way, one runs afoul of the same significant Gospel doctrines. While coercion and loss of agency are the hallmarks of all socialism, free market capitalism is completely neutral. One brings evil or charity with them in that system. Therefore, free market capitalism is the Lord's way because agency is preserved. And one can also see from the doctrine on the LoC that the LoC can't function without it. Look also at how the Lord speaks regarding salvation; also a capitalist free market system where treasures are laid up in store, blessings are given in obedience to the laws predicated, and people are rewarded on the merits of their preformance.
