Daniel Peterson Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I really don't mean to clutter the board here, but, just in case anybody's interested, I'm slated to speak to the topic of "Abraham Divided: Understanding the Middle East Conflict" at the annual FreedomFest libertarian convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, 14-16 July. (Vegas shouldn't be cold then.)I'm not one of the "keynote speakers" this time, just one of the "other speakers":http://www.freedomfest.com/speakers2011.htmAs you might expect, this being a libertarian gathering, there will be an entrance fee. It's an interesting group, though. Especially if (like me) you're at all inclined to libertarianism in any form. This will be my third engagement there.
WalkerW Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 It's things like this that make me want to move close to my in-laws (they are in Vegas). Not to mention the drive to Utah is short. Being inclined to libertarianism myself, I wrote a recent op-ed in my university's paper entitled "Economic, Morality Work Together." Some of the responses reminded me of some of the worst anti-Mormons: all show and no back-up.

Doctor Steuss Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 IIRC, it looks like the price has come down a smidgen from last year (currently $395 for this year -- or a paltry $1,015 if you want to go to all the luncheans/breakfasts). Still a little out of my price range though... maybe one of these days.
blackstrap Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Say doctor steuss,do you know of any casinos that are willing to let me win the entrance fee? I know of a bunch that are more than willing to let me try but I need a "guarantee".

I've generally had extremely good luck getting money from this machine, and I've found one in every casino. Unfortunately, for some odd reason, the cocktail waitresses won't comp your drinks while "playing" at one of these...
