My critics will take that last phrase as proof that I make a megabundle of $$$ from my Mopologetic Lies©. (One critic, last year, estimated my annual income as an apologist to be in the high six figures. Which is true, in fact, so long as the figures are all zeroes.) All it really means, though, is that I don't have a budget for such travel, and that I am unwilling to pay for constant lecture trips across the country (and beyond) out of my own pathetic professorial pocket. (We've got a wedding coming up, and I just had to replace my roof and do major car repairs.)

Our son is getting married this year, need roof repairs and a new car. Yep, all sounds very familiar. Unfortunately, no one is willing to pay me all those bundles you make for speaking.

I think any number of your past FAIR Conference talks would do just fine --- or, a ground-breaking, trail-blazing, cutting edge, finger-on-the-pulse-of-the-contemporary-state-of-LDS-apologetics address. Either way . . . I anticipate a large audience, and a mixed one. We had 110+ non-Mormons at our "Are Mormons Christian?" and "Book of Mormon: Fact or Fiction?" firesides over the last year and a half, and we will be letting stakes around the state know, more so than with our previous stake community firesides. One of the counselors in the stake presidency is CES, so the ASU/UofA institutes will know as well.SeattleGhost and ChristKnight: it will be well worth the drive from Washington or New York . . .

One of the counselors in the stake presidency is CES, so this will be announced at the ASU and UofA institutes. Are you going to be able to make it, ttribe?
