Sunday Law & Separation of Church and State

Glenn Beck is predicting hyperinflation and civil unrest in the near future in the US, and world-wide for that matter. If the USA reinstates Sunday closing laws as it had in force in the 1800's in most states, would the LDS Church protest this law on the grounds breaching the wall separating church and state?

Aside from the inflammatory value of Beck's name among the political Left, what does his prediction (one shared by many) have to do with Sunday "blue" laws?

The moderators have indicated they're tired of Beck threads because they inevitably turn political.

Are you name-dropping merely to incite? Or was there are larger point to be made?

Were the blue laws enforced originally because of religious piety or so that Americans could be ensured at least one day off from work a week? I'd actually never even HEARD of blue laws until I visited my Grandma in Rhode Island when I was a kid. I grew up in California and we didn't have anything like that.

If one properly understand the clause "separation of church and state" then need not wory about stores closing on Sunday. Also if people would realise that the phrase is not even in the Constitution that might go a long way as well.

BTW name dropping Glenn adds nothing to your point unless it was to bash Glenn then this thread is a waste.

ugh, truthwave, are you sure you just don't want to talk about how the 7th day is the sabbath?

as for separation of church and state, if people realized there is more than one "thing" the United States Citizens enjoy that are specifically written in the US Constitution we would not have silly discussions about "where is it written in the US Constitution".

Religious Organization largely stay out of political or legislative matters.

TW7-

Do you honestly believe that with the Human Secularism of modern society and rising anti-Christian sentiment that a religious "Sunday Law" will be put into force? This is one place where modern SDA teachings loose me.

:P There is a point around here somewhere... right?

What does any of this have to do with anything?
