I hope I'm not wicked for hating this guy and feeling he deserves to be put to death. Well, I guess that means I'm a little wicked. I'm sure the prophet would suggest I pray about this and learn to feel sorry for him instead. What a monster, though. Geze.

Mitchell is called a "Street Preacher" five times on this web page.

Hummm...

Well you would agree that he isn't your typical conference going "street-screacher". Right?

Yes, a completely different sort indeed.

In some ways, LDS missionaries are 'Street Preachers' too.

But I find it strange how media often misapplies common labels, titles, and concepts and crosses categories when reporting stories. Street Preachers, are being associated with dangerous nut-cases in this Utah case. Very interesting choices of descriptions are being used. Very crafty writing indeed. I am wondering if this term "Street Preacher' in this article was used to associate Mitchell with LDS Missionaries, or Utah Conference 'screachers'??

I guess the 'news industry' is all about crafting sensations, making a novelty, and getting reader's attentions-- and making bucks in the process.

Well they have found Brian Mitchell guilty at last.

Does anyone here think he was insane? I never believed it. (and)

What do you think his punishment should be?

Here is story

I love closure. I'm glad this is over. He needs to be locked up whether or not he's insane. He's to dangerous to ever be allowed out of prision again.

However, on second thought, His Hymn singing approaches the level of "street-screaching".

Tone of voice?

But that is nothing compared to the crimes he did. When one reads the media reports of the trial testimony- he did horrible and really bad capital crimes. Mitchell performed multiple kinds of harmful and repeated atrocities upon an innocent young victim.

Mitchell can never be allowed to live in the general population ever again-- as long as he lives.

Tragic end to a more tragic affair.

Tragic in the sense that Elizabeth Smart and everyone else will have the privilege of paying for his housing, food, clothing, medical care, lawyers etc. for the rest of his life.

What I want to know is why it took so long to get here?

I guess I don't understand your reasoning. Given what he did why is it a tragic ending?

ERayR:

The waste of a life is always a tragic thing.

True but that happened along time before this tragedy began.

Don't know what Utah law is on the subject. But he'll probably never see the outside of prison in this life.

A parade of experts took the witness stand to say Mitchell had an array of diagnoses, from a rare delusional disorder and schizophrenia to pedophilia, anti-social personality disorder and narcissism.

A punishable offense I might add.
