MatthewG Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Great ArticleI love the part he talks about prayer. Talking about how different his day feels when he does it. Sad to hear he's struggles with Alcohol but I bet it would be hard to be in the position he's in. Your thoughts.

Sad to hear he's struggles with Alcohol but I bet it would be hard to be in the position he's in. Your thoughts. That is one reason I chose not to go into the rock scene. I did not want to deal with the drugs and alcohol, and I did not want to be gone from my family for large spaces of time, ie a tour. It is tough to deal with that. I am sure he can over come it.
sansfoy Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 That is one reason I chose not to go into the rock scene.Same here. Well that, and I have no talent.

semlogo Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 http://www.famousmormons.net/ent.htmlI didn't know Arcade Fire's bassist was LDS. Cool!
LDSToronto Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 http://www.famousmormons.net/ent.htmlI didn't know Arcade Fire's bassist was LDS. Cool!Didn't know that... There is a band up here in Canada that enjoyed some fame recently, The Stereos. The drummer, Aaron Verdonk, is LDS, though not active since his late teens. His parents and brothers are, for the most part, active members.H.
MorningStar Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 http://www.famousmormons.net/ent.htmlI didn't know Arcade Fire's bassist was LDS. Cool!I didn't know that either! I love them! That guy cracks me up. Sometimes he reminds me of Jack Black with the way he moves, like in this video.http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-august-12-2010/arcade-fire---month-of-may
Tarski Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 When I lived in LA I was guitarist in a rock group whose members where mostly LDS. We enjoyed a certain amount of success having played quite few times at the usual bigger named stepping stone clubs such as Madame Wong's and "Whiskey a go go".Did we avoid the influences of drugs and sexual promiscuity? Well, not entirely. It's just the way that world is.(Full disclosure: I don't regret anything actually)

Catch me this weekend at Club 90 in Sandy.
frankenstein Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 The Killers is a awesome band."Don't Shoot me Santa" is one of my favorites of theirs. I went to a Killers concert in Michigan and it was terrific. Brandon Flowers released a solo album, sadly is it not that great in my opinion. What I like most about The Killers is how much fun the first album is. Rarely is an entire album good for repeated listening, and thankfully, The Killers self titled album is one of those rare albums.
Maidservant Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I love Killers and I love Brandon's poetry and God conversation in his songs . . . but just from that article, he seems like a young man that is not settled in his soul in a not-so-good way. But, hey, I've been there, and God will teach him like he teaches all of us.
zappa Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 http://www.famousmormons.net/ent.htmlI didn't know Arcade Fire's bassist was LDS. Cool!To be fair he's not the "typical" bassist in the band (even though they all seem to be multi-instrumentalists), he's the younger brother of the lead singer which then asks the question, is his older brother LDS too..? I'm pretty sure one of them studying religion at college/university too

So many bands that got big started at places like that. The good ole sunset strip.
