Mola Ram Suda Ram Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Mormons aren't really happy. They just pretend that they're happy, because they feel obligated to claim that they're happy. It's all fake. Mormons are plastic robots. In the spirit of Christian service, I thought I would spare some of our critics the trouble of posting the insights above by doing so myself. I predict, with some confidence, that this is the kind of response you'll see, if you see any, on some of the more virulent anti- and ex-Mormon boards.Oh this one is easy, we really aren't happpy because everybody know that being mormon is depressing. That is why we have the most "mental health" problems of any other state. Critics can be so predictable.
bluebell Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Am I good, or what? From over at my Malevolent Stalker's board:That is too funny! They are so obvious.
DanGB Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Well I share a vacation home in Park City w my best friend from college. He is a so-so catholic (his description not mine!), who worked with Northwest Pipeline (now Williams) in the mid 80s till the mid 90s. One of these evil Gentiles who didn't have kids till later and accumulated wealth early. Can't complain though cuz I wouldn't have equity inthe place without him. Now, we both luv Utah for the fun we have there together on the slopes, cycles, and links as we vacation there. Hell, we even go to Utah and BYU games together there when we can. But he and his wife readily admit they left (as permenant home) there because they did not want to raise their children as minorities and the pressure they saw on non-lds children. They found that over time, as Gentiles, they felt a bit more isolated with their habits and beliefs. And let's all be candid for once here, the "conversion complex is rather smothering, especially on home turf!!But they (and I) are the first to go and admit, that for outdoor family fun and natural beauty, it's hard to beat.Happiness ? Well that's in the eye of the beholder! (and I behold that bobsled run up there in Park City!)
krose Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 From over at my Malevolent Stalker's board:You're giving MS ownership of the board now?
notHagoth7 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 You mean like Canada? Hey.Tread gently there. (One day, you might come knocking at the border begging to be let in.)
DanGB Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 You're giving MS ownership of the board now?Dang, and I thought this thread was gonna be about Utah as opposed to board wars or politics . BUMMER! Too much beauty to waste for those of us who don't live there full time!Kinda like going to a FAIR conference and spending the whole day on the Tanners!!!!Geeeeeze!
Daniel Peterson Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 You're giving MS ownership of the board now?"My country, right or wrong." "My native country, thee,: Land of the noble free." (Do I really claim to own the country?)"Sen. John McCain is not particularly popular in his home state of Arizona." (Sen. McCain married a wealthy beer heiress, but I didn't realize that she owned an entire state.)"Famed pop singer Prince offered discounted tickets and free shuttle bus service to fans attending his recent show in his home state of Minnesota." (He must be far richer than I had realized.)And so on and so forth.

So you could just as easily have said, "over on The Dude's board," or "over on Kimberly Ann's board," but chose your favorite "resident" instead.
bluebell Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Hey.Tread gently there. (One day, you might come knocking at the border begging to be let in.)I've got nothing (well, very little ) against Canada. It's just where the movie 'brokeback mountain' was shot, though it was supposedly taking place in wyoming.
