Ron Beron Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Without revealing any details I was wondering if anyone has read this book specifically looking at the concepts of apotheosis (becoming god) Brown brings up. Interesting read.

mfbukowski Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 :::sigh::: A day late and a dollar short. Thanks for the update. Not necessarily. As I recall it was kind of a lame-o thread and needed your input. I am weird about reading fiction since I am so far behind on all I have to keep up with and just don't have the time, but I would like to hear why you found the book interesting.I do recall something about the Apotheosis of Washington in the capital rotunda, and I posted kind of a "so what" response since there were numerous "apotheosis" paintings in the neo classic period since every leader wanted to be a Roman god. Fortunately or not, deification was in the air Joseph breathed at the beginning of the 19th century.

Interesting read.If interested in potential links between Masonic origins and nephites, here's food for thought. Might provide a viable explanation for the origins of those Masonic teachings.

Interesting read.Just finished reading it.Potential spoiler:I rarely read fiction, BUT I'm encouraged that he wrote a hope-filled kind book about Masonry, faith, and the human potential for growth.I'm additionally encouraged that, as a top-selling author, his exploration of such things is now gaining broad consideration/reflection.
