I include many dozens of hypocephali and show the evidence for you to see for yourself. I also discuss the many problems the Reverend Spaulding had in 1912, and the critics again had in the 1960's. I know they removed it in the '78 version, thinking it might be a phallic thing, but it's back and it's too high for anything like that. Even higher is some of the other versions I've seen of that figure.

We know what the Egyptian is- it is a hypocepalus. But this is the Book of Abraham not a hypocephalus! It only LOOKS like an hypocephalus, but has a whole different meaning. It has been "translated" remember? That is the key here. If you see it as a hypocephalus, you are wrong. It's like saying the cross is only a phallic symbol (which anciently it was).

I was a very beginner when I started this on the tube, so I don't know how well they are in order. I shall have to organize them a little better.

They found a cave and put each of the tokens in a different room of the cave, and their children would pass between the rooms and visit each token. Eventually the tokens were passed to Seth who passed on the tokens to true believers through the generations, ending up with the Zoroastrian(?) magi who awaited the sign of the birth of the savior and then passed on the tokens to him. At least that is the way I remember it. I can look up the source, but you guys are so smart that you will probably correct my bad memory of the story. Obviously metaphorical references to other very interesting stuff.I always thought it also interesting that in at least one chronology, Zoroaster is said to have been born in Persia around the time of the beginning of the Jewish captivity, also around the time that the BOM says Lehi left Jerusalem. All kinds of interesting stuff in that too! I have always wondered who Zoroaster REALLY was. Ahura Mazda bears a striking resemblance to El and the Eloheim - seven demi gods and the whole thing. And of course the savior referred to as "the Sun (with a "u") of righteousness with healing in his wings" in Malachai among other places... There is just not enough time in one lifetime to get to all the great stuff there is out there! New thread? Anybody got enough interest for one?

ACtually David Fideler wrote a stunning book "Jesus CHrist: Sun of God," Quest Books, 1993 that just totally gave me amazing insights into the ancients, very similar to Nibley's stuff, "Message of J.S. Papyri," "Ancient State," etc.
