I have heard a rumour that it was a fluke that any of these sites were ever actually found but I could be wrong, its Newfoundland for heaven's sakes not exactley a heavily populated area! Beautiful area though.

I'll say what it has to do with the BoM. It provides a concrete example of the kinds of artifacts one might expect to find in an archeological site where people really did smelt iron, ie: iron slag, a forge, etc.
