sunstoned Posted December 7, 2023 Share Posted December 7, 2023 Fox 13 news is reporting that students at Salt Lake Community College are premiering a documentary that they produced about the impact of conversion therapy that happened at Brigham Young University in the late 1970s. Here is a selected quote that seems at odds with Dallin Oaks claim that while he was the president of BYU from 1971 through 1980, no such therapy was happening on the campus. Quote Specifically electroshock therapy that students did volunteer to be a part of, that had a very negative, traumatic effect on them and how it has shaped the rest of their lives afterwards," Leonard explained. Rock_N_Roll Posted January 31 Share Posted January 31 Although it’s possible the “therapy” was conducted off campus, I know for a fact it was going on at, or around, BYU in the late 70’s. My BIL went through it after being referred by his bishop. Link to comment
