I would like to thank all who participated in this poll and/or posted in this thread.

To the question "What is your primary general perception of so-called “near death experiences”?, the five most popular choices (as of 5 PM on 7-4-22 and rounded to the nearest percent) are:

1.  Potentially plausible and educational whether or not they support LDS teachings (or my belief system if not LDS):  51%

2.  Hallucinations and/or spasms of an oxygen-starved brain:  16%

3.  Too confusing and/or too variable for conclusions to be drawn:  13%

4.  Potentially plausible and educational only if they support LDS teachings (or my belief system if not LDS):  7%

5.  Exaggerations and/or fabrications:  4%

I'd like to offer the following video clips and/or articles, in respectful support of each of these five perceptions:

1.  In the spirit of @Kevin Christensen's observation that we can benefit from NDE accounts without actually having one:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQsV2MpSl1A

2. Reseacher and author John Martin Fischer argues that there is no good evidence for supernatural interpretations of NDE's; rather, they can be interpreted in a naturalistic way:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlDEIXV9RVM&t=733s

3.  I couldn't find any videos which address the diversity of NDE accounts, but here are two articles on the subject:  https://near-death.com/why-ndes-are-different/ and https://freeread.com/why-are-near-death-experiences-so-different/#:~:text= Why Are Near Death Experiences So Different%3F,others are taught that we are... More

4.  LDS perspectives on NDE's:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTnU29i8DPs

5.  And if NDE stories make your eyes roll, you might enjoy watching Neil deGrasse Tyson rolling his:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5qEBC7ZzVQ
