"UsefulCharts" Video on the Book of Mormon

The useful charts youtube channel has got around to doing the book of mormon.

It's addressed from an academic never-mormon point of view (the guy is jewish), so of course he ends up claiming that it's not legit, but overall it's quite an interesting watch. (and debunks the spaulding manuscript theory).

What does everyone else think?

Matt Baker, “Book of Mormon as Literature: Family Tree and Possible Sources,” UsefulCharts, Jan 22, 2022.

Yes, Matt  Baker has some very useful videos on the Bible, etc..  His timeline of ancient America (https://youtu.be/BQnJK6ZJPOU) is very nice, and should be viewed by anyone interested in the Book of Mormon.  Unfortunately, he ignored his own ancient America timeline in his comments on the BofM, which is reminiscent of the Mike Coe failure.  In fact, his timeline of ancient America dovetails remarkably well with his Book of Mormon chronology.

His summary of the Book of Mormon is quite good, but he depended upon some non-scholarly sources (such as the late Grant Palmer) in his further evaluation of the BofM, and he was unaware of recent research.  He even brings in several false statements about the Book of Abraham.

He also falsely claims that the BofM reflects 19th century American culture, even though the language of the BofM was extinct long before the 19th century.
