Why do we acknowledge symbolism and also demand literalism in our scriptural stories?

Maybe all of these foundational stories are  symbolic and none of them literally happened?  That’s what I am leaning toward.  It makes the most sense and my mind doesn’t have to have conflicts.

Yep!

Consider the idea that we don't know what happened- it could be either one, AND it is impossible to know which "really happened" and therefore "what really happened" is an endless irrelevant quandary that can never be answered.

So you can say "yes" forever or "no" forever and never resolve the problem!

Might be this, might be that and which it was is simply unknowable by natural reason, and therefore irrelevant.   You are pretty much "sold" on the version you pick and have presumably prayed about.

The important thing is that God loves us and has a plan for us to progress to become like Him.

Doesn't much matter HOW he did it- just that he did it, and you have a testimony that is the best plan you have seen for explaining it all. :)

No need to fret about it.  You will know soon enough. ;)

Look at your Catholic background showing up with veneration of the Holy Family ;)

Of course!   And the Communion of Saints!

For us, even for those who have never even HEARD of Jesus the Christ.  They get a shot at it all in "Purgatory".

You guys just don't take the idea of "Father" as far as you should!

We believe you can grow up and be just like Daddy and Mommy!!  ;)

luv ya!
