As late as 25 AD there were still people claiming to be pure descendants of Lehi.

 

I don't and neither do you.  And no one can tell differently.  Hagoth is included in the Nephite population of that area.  He lived among Nephites.  That is what we have as evidence.

But what does "pure descendants" mean anyway?  Since the four brothers married into Ishamel's family, there was more than just DNA/bloodline from Lehi and Sariah in the system from the start.  Even if Jacob and Joseph married their brother's daughters, any grandchildren of Lehi were also grand or great grandchildren of Ishmael and his wife.

And therefore also of Lehi, who was the acknowledged clan leader for the rest of their history.

Sorry.  Relative to this discussion, your comments make no sense, while make do make sense.

Hagoth was most like a Nephite.  You can call him a descent of Lehi but not a Lehite.  That makes no sense.
