Popular Post Bill “Papa” Lee Posted May 29, 2019 Popular Post Posted May 29, 2019 On Sunday when we arrived at Church, I noticed that my daughter-in-law was going to sing in Sacrament. There was really no need to tell any of us, as all but one child, and one grandchild are always there anyway. It was also my youngest grandchild’s birthday on Sunday, she turned one year old. I now have nine grandchildren, ranging in ages of 1 to 18 years of age. As I listened to my daughter-in-law sing, a wonderful song, I realized that the family of four that we were back in 1979, when we joined the Church, now numbers 19. So everyone who was there, and those who are family by marriage numbered over 40+ in attendance. As my daughter-in-law did an outstanding job of singing, of course my one year old birthday girl noticed that her Aunt was singing. She of course was clapping, while grinning ear to ear. My daughter-in-law is a very guarded person when it come to her emotions, and you can often see it in her face, or the tension in her shoulders. Someone who tends to keep things buried deep inside, and seldom asks for help. When Sacrament was over, we all were telling her what a wonderful job she did with that song, as all would expect. My one year old granddaughter reached out for her Aunt, and she was surprised, and when she took her in her arms, she began (the grand baby) to really give a big hug. So when the baby’s Mother reached for her, telling her that she needs to go with her to class, “Brooklynn”, is the one year old, she clutched her Aunt even tighter. Suddenly, all the stress, all the worry just faded away, as my daughter-in-law began crying. This went on for almost 10 mins, as the tension in her demeanor vanished before our eyes. Children are so “intuitive”, so “empathetic”, so “loving”, asking nothing in return. It makes sense that to “inherit the Kingdom of God, we must become as little children”. Anyway, other that the two who were absent, because of distance, it was a “perfect day”. Hope you enjoy this story, at least a litte, and must as I enjoyed telling it. God bless you all. 5
