As a non-father I find this topic exclusionary and discriminatory.

Can't agree with you more. I despise days designated to honor fathers or mothers......Why should be a day for us? So retarded. what about single women&men never get that chance? There's nothing special about me.....absolutely nothing....

Besides we need to respect & honor parents every day...not a special designated day where we need to spend money.....I never encourage kids to call or text me on this day.

Just picture this; how many times you felt the pain of watching single women in the church sitting quietly.......I hated it, absolutely hated it.

Why should teams get trophies for winning? Why should actors and actresses receive awards for their performances? Why should some children get an A on their report cards or a star on their assignments? Why should a person become president of a company, etc? WHY? It is because they went out and earned it. And anyone who has made a concerted effort to raise a child from birth, put their own wants and needs aside for that child, and attempt to bring that child up in a loving caring home, and deal with sickness, and nourishing that child ---------------has earned a place of honor. They have earned this honor more that any of those above mentioned earned theirs!

I was being sarcastic so technically you are not agreeing with me. ;)

I don't think so, being mother/father is not earned. Little or no effort required. It is a job and every parent is responsible raising their kids. That's what I did, yes I did enjoy parts of it but mostly it was huge pain of giving up yourself. Yea, I'm glad I didn't raise criminals, sociopaths....but guess what, one of my relatives did, I know she was much better, loving lady. It is pure luck of the draw that this kid you are planning to have will be healthy, law abiding citizen etc., I know I could never start a family again knowing what I know now. In my line of work we receive daily 2 or 3 teenage parents (kids themselves)......thankfully I'm not the physician.......Imagine this....One mom comes 4 kids in tow....not one, not two but for kids suffer mental retardation.....I love this lady what she goes through is unimaginable....And yet I raised four healthy kids.....Where is the fairness? Sorry....😞

I believe children are a gift from GOD. Some are given an opportunity and some are not. I do not accept luck. We live in a FALLEN world but GOD still takes the opportunity to teach. This brings some closer to the Lord. and some despair because they refuse such "silly" notions as God.

I do respect your perspective.
