Seems even timelier today than in 1970

Putin is campaigning on military rearmament but it is mostly bluster. Even with conscription Russia cannot keep their military staffed and they have insisted they are going to go to a volunteer military soon but cannot get enough volunteers.

His invincible missile almost certainly does not exist.

Russia does have several "invincible" missiles already in the SS-18 and SS-27.  They are replacing the SS-18 with their new version.  That missile may not be ready yet but it does exist.  I read a report that there is evidence of a nuclear powered cruise missile.  I am not sure how it works but the reactor is not shielded.  The US military has detected radiation from missile tests so the report said.  As the nuclear submarine drone with a 100 megaton warhead, that is no confirmed.  Regardless whether one dies in a blast from current or new nuclear weapons, it really does not matter.  Still dead either way.

I hope we can all remember to love one another, especially those who are different from us.  Let’s work together to solve world problems right here, right now.  However bad world conditions might be, that does not give us an excuse to just sit back and let it happen.  Let’s be the change we wish to see in the world!  I believe in a gospel of hope!

The best way to do that is to heed the admonition in President Lee’s quote: to give heed to the words and commandments of God as delivered through His prophets. To the degree we succumb to worldly influences, we render ourselves less able to lift and bless others.

I cry foul. I think the world is not as bad as you and Scott believe. https://www.vox.com/the-big-idea/2016/12/23/14062168/history-global-conditions-charts-life-span-poverty

What about religions' attack on the secular? Works both ways. I like that the world has more equality all around. And more love all around, it seems, unless you lean alt right. Then it's really sad, and very un-Jesus like. I believe there are quite a few Christians that are alt right. And they glean a lot of it from the Bible. In which I think comes from man made scripture, not God breathed at all.

The link gives 5 issues that really do not determine whether the world is good or bad.  The fact that people live a few more years really does not factor in to whether things are getting better or worse.  One can find anything however to justify a particular point.  What is most important is all these advances can come crashing down in literally days.  A new depression,  a war with China or Russia, a great pandemic, ect.  Technology right now is making things good but little else has changed for thousands of years.  Technology in the end however will not save anyone and only goes so far.

Yea, verily I say unto you, in that day when the Lord shall come, he shall reveal all things

When that day comes, I suppose I will hit myself on the forehead and say, "Why didn't I think of that?"

If the battle was for evolution to be taught at BYU, then I agree that they didn't lose and take back my statement.

If the battle was for evolution to be taught in the Church as being compatible with the doctrines of creation and the fall, then they lost.  Since this is a forum dedicated to discussing Mormonism and its doctrines and not the curriculum of the biology department at BYU, I thought the context of my comment would be obvious without needing further explanation.

OK,  let me give you the doctrine, as I see it.  Evolution is a natural law, and the Lord uses natural laws in the creation process.  But, like so many things, we do not have the details.

PS  Somehow it involves the use of the law of chaos as well [especially as it involves DNA]

You have permission to quote me.
