There's no room in our religion?

if the truth claims and doctrines don't influence all of our decisions in some way, there's no spiritual reason to be a member

I'm curious about people's thoughts.

Let me explain why I find this wrong and why this is an issue for me.

I am one who isn't always influenced by the truth claims of the Church and it's doctrines, and yet I find myself having spiritual reasons to be a member.  So, I'm not sure her absolute claim here really works.  That's fine, dogmatic claims are often made around here.

But...

I also get some push from members about whether I should be a member.  There are often statements like the one quoted, that, when you get down to, seem to suggest i'm outside the boundaries of the religion and should not be in it or participate.

Also...

there are other statements made that seem to tell me I'm bad for being wrong about something or other.

So I'm curious.  Is it not possible for someone to find spiritual reason to be a member and also not always be influenced by the truth claims and doctrines of the Church when making decisions?

Or

Should I accept that I either have no spiritual reason to be a member, or that I should not be a member?

Thanks in advance for your responses.  I tried this discuss elsewhere but I basically got no particular response other than, I see, Calm saying that she is not saying what it appears to me she is saying.

It is possible to find spiritual reasons to be a member without believing the claims of truth or the doctrines of the Church.

But it is not possible to reap all the spiritual benefits of the gospel without testimony.
