My bishop actually said this to me (in all seriousness) just 3-4 years ago regarding the disavowal of the priesthood/temple ban. He said that he knows that the prophet and apostles still stand by reasoning that blacks were less valiant in the preexistence. And that they are only denying the "less valiant" theory now because they are forced to be "politically correct". This is sad...when a leader of any organization is swayed from what they believe and have taught in the past for any reason other than truth, where does this leave the doubters and the essays themselves? To thine own self, be true. Edited March 21, 2017 by Jeanne
jcake Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 It's always interesting to see how people choose to follow Christ and keep the great commandments, to love God, and one another, as he loves us. I admit that it feels, to me, like some people love the traditional thinking of their culture, and can't put it aside, even if it seems unkind and contrary to the teachings of the Savior.

Just because the bishop made the claim doesn't mean it is true, Jeanne.
