Stargazer Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Duncan messaged me about this a few hours ago. It's very sad to me, as I counted him as a friend, and we served our full-time missions in the same mission (Germany Central/Germany Duesseldorf) at around the same time (1970-1973). Coincidentally, we also served as presidents of US servicemen's branches in Germany in the same servicemen's stake back in 1983. He and his wife were going to be visiting Europe in January, and I had been hoping to have a chance to meet with them while they were here (I'm in England at this time). As the Deseret News article indicates, he was a dedicated servant of the Lord, and a great guy. http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.deseretnews.com%2Farticle%2F865670135%2FElder-Bruce-D-Porter-General-Authority-Seventy-dies-at-age-64.html&h=OAQEXyukT&s=1 2
Jeanne Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Very young. I don't know him but very seldom does someone pass away so young. Condolences to family, friends and church associates.
