Glenn101 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I recall in some other threads concerning the different Kingdoms some poster or other saying essentially that a God is punishing a righteous person/family when they make it to the Celestial Kingdom and another loved one does not. The family is deprived of the presence of that loved one. That last point is undeniably true, but it is not God whose actions or inactions have caused that separation. In this mortal life, innocent people are punished by the acts of loved ones, all to often. A man who steals, etc. and is caught will usually find himself in jail, unable to provide for his family and often bringing public shame and ridicule on his family. But it is not the law that is punishing the family. it is the actions of the man. On a personal note, I have just had my temple recommend renewed. I had let it lapse because of my work schedule and had procrastinated getting it renewed. Well, one of my stepsons and his wife are getting sealed for time and eternity this coming Saturday. I suddenly had to do something. I was able to arrange the necessary interviews. Well actually my wife did. But, in any event, a member of the Stake Presidency took time out of his schedule to meet with us this A.M. to accommodate my schedule. This has been a bit of a lesson to me. And that is what has brought me to bring up this UOI (unoriginal idea). If the Stake Presidency had been unable to accommodate me on this short notice, I would miss that sealing. My stepson has come to regard me as the father he never had in his life. I would have been the one punishing him and his wife by my own inaction. No one else but me. However, my stepson and his wife would still be sealed together. It would be my loss. They would have been hurt, saddened, but still sealed. Fortunately my wife is a good secretary, among so many other things that she is wonderful about. One of which os putting up with me. That should be enough to ensure her own sainthood. Glenn
