Darn. Yet another thing I forgot to do. And it's too late. We've already gone on to Boston.

Don't forget the clam chowder.

My favorite Mormon Tabernacle Choir moment happened a few years back when they visited Atlanta and performed in the Fabulous Fox Theater.  (Don't know if you were there Scott?)

After the concert we took a friend to the Sundial restaurant in the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel.  Above the restaurant is an observation deck that rotates for a 360 degree view of Atlanta.  Several of the Mo Tab singers visited this deck in their uniforms.  The "bangs to heaven" and pearls with long dresses, along with men in their tuxes, were filing into the observation deck at the same time as several men in drag.  It happened to be a gay festival in Midtown and the drag queens were celebrating at the same time.

The two groups were politely trying not to stare at each other, but at the same time they couldn't help but look.  I imagine they both noticed something a bit off about the other group, but couldn't quite put their finger on what it was.  The young LDS woman who was our guest was slightly perplexed until we told her to look closely at the glamorous "women" dining around us and on the observation deck.

It was a surreal scene I will never forget.  And I wonder just how many drag queens and MoTab members figured out what was really going on with the twilight zone experience they were having.
