DragonLancer Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 http://www.wnd.com/2015/05/leading-islamic-voice-calls-for-reconquering-jerusalem/ Is Erdogan the Biblical Gog? It appears that the stage is being set for Armageddon if we take seriously the idea that Meschech, Tubal and Magog (Ezekiel 38 & 39) are historically part of Turkey. We have a president right now that I believe would be unwilling to defend Israel against this. 1
Stargazer Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) I'd be careful giving World Nut Daily much credence. And you better know that your final sentence is going to set off some of us (not me) who are politically leftish, so if you want this thread NOT to end by being closed by a moderator, I'd remove it if I were you. Otherwise this is going to get political very quickly. But aside from that, this Erdogan guy isn't saying anything new that hasn't been said in Iran or for that matter in a number of other Islamic-majority states. Edited May 25, 2015 by Stargazer

He is calling for a coalition of Sunnis and Shiites, and he is in the geographical area expected. All I can say about the fact that you are having a knee jerk reaction about the site it is on is to get over it.

Out of cents in my pocket. Out.
Stargazer Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 He is saying something new. He is calling for a coalition of Sunnis and Shiites, and he is in the geographical area expected. All I can say about the fact that you are having a knee jerk reaction about the site it is on is to get over it. You might be right about him saying something new. And the geography might support your suggestion. But one hears the same things about Israel from every level of society in every Muslim country in the Middle East. Perhaps the President of Turkey is somewhat more influential than some of these, but you have to keep in mind that Turkish politics is kept on a lease by the Turkish Armed Forces. If the TAF doesn't like what the civilian government is doing, it has historically acted to jerk things back from where they are going. I expect that they will let Erdogan talk his talk, but I seriously doubt they will let him walk it. But who knows? Maybe they will let him. As to my distrust of World Nut Daily, I give them the same credence I give Al Jazeera: a big grain of salt. Sometimes I am sure that they report news in an objective way, and sometimes I am sure they are giving biased reportage and cherry-picking their sources. I won't be the only one who thinks WND is an organization of extremist cranks.

I am grinding my teeth trying to keep myself from commenting on this. Discretion is winning out, but just barely. Good call. Thread closed: political
