For Members: Do You Feel Your Doctrinal Beliefs Are Pretty Standard?


How typical do you feel your doctrinal beliefs are in the Church?

  1. 1. How typical do you think your doctrinal beliefs are?

    • I pretty much agree with the manual on everything and take the scriptures literally.
    • I agree with the Church teachings on everything (except my one or two pet ideas).
    • I believe in some doctrines, but think that many well established "doctrines" aren't true, just opinion.
    • I agree with everything except the stuff I think is symbolic because academia tells me different.
    • I believe in the Church but I have my own ideas on pretty much everything regardless.
    • I think the Church is true but most of its doctrinal teachings are either unnecessary or simply wrong.

The question then become when is he or when is he not acting as a prophet? In the Church we have a well established method for doing that. His mere saying it doesn't make it so.

I think you mean we have a well established way to find out when a man is speaking as a prophet of God, and yes I agree we do have that. And no it is not the fact that he is merely saying he is, which he may not even do when he is.
