Most whales would have a hard time swallowing anything bigger than a cantelope . It says the Lord PREPARED a great fish which swallowed Jonah. There are several species of fish that can swallow a man whole. There is,however, the problem of the effects of digestive juices for 3 days. Maybe that is what the Lord dealt with in order to prepare the fish.

I don't give "Athiest Scientists" much credence. Some of the OT may be metaphorical, so I am content to just wait and get it first hand. Science is neither Atheistic nor Theistic it is Agnostic. Scientists OTOH are usually one of those three.
