JLHPROF Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Are you sure? The delibarate, sustained attempt to destroy entire groups of God's children- his brothers and sisters created in the image and likeness of God- to me would signify someone who would reject Christ himself.Yes, I'm sure that based on "what we know" are the requirements:Joseph Smith taught that to become a son of perdition, a person must "have the heavens opened unto him, and know God....He has got to say that the sun does not shine while he sees it; he has got to deny Jesus Christ when the heavens have been opened unto him, and to deny the plan of salvation with his eyes open to the truth of it" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p.358). Twist it any way you like, I am pretty sure Hitler didn't have the presence of the Savior to then deny. To put it simply, while he absolutely shed innocent blood, he didn't climb high enough to fall so far.

More had to be known by him to achieve SOP status, not saying he didn't achieve, just saying we don't know enough to make that call. After all Judas betrayed Christ himself, but Joseph F Smith wasn't sure he was an SOP,and Pres Kimball said he didn't know.
