Diapers

My biggest worry when diapering was that I would somehow pin the child.

Me too.  I always put my hand between the diaper and the baby and then would cringe as I put the pin in, bracing myself, but I don't remember ever jabbing myself.

Nicole was a joy. She is still only 5'2" but she kept wiggling out of her diapers as soon as she could walk. Very soon after that, we had a short little potty chair that she would use. I kept it in the kitchen in a position where I could see it from there , the dinning room and the living room. She followed me around anyhow.  By the time she was 4, she was was the only child home. We doted on her so much, that we perhaps made things hard on ourselves. From the time she could walk, she would somehow get out of the crib, and drag her blanket into the bedroom with us, to sleep the night by our bed. We were unsure how to handle that, and felt that her time in the orpanage and being the only one in the neighborhood that looked like her made her a very lonely child. This was very surprising because we got her when she was three months old.

She slept on our floor in the bedroom until she was at least 12. This is very hard to write about. I am going to bed.
