Friends make posts and those posts show up on your FB "NewsFeed" where you can see and comment on your friends FB posts. You can find other FB friends by accessing your friends other FB friends...so again I am assuming that the iMissionaries will make posts that will show up on their FB friends NewsFeeds and when those FB friends, presumably LDS members, "like" a comment made by the iMissionaries, that "like" will be broadcast to all of their friends...LDS and non-LDS alike. But just as in the real FB world...when you have a FB friend who constantly over reaches the boundaries and continuously posts offensive material or subject matter that you really don't want to be barraged with ... you simply click a button and their posts no longer show up on you newsfeed...and that is what I see happening.So yes I believe that this new method of iTracting will go exactly as I've described in my OP...with the exact consequences as I've describedWhy would FB be used? THat is indeed on assumption you are making.
halconero Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Okay, so while visiting my mission president a few weeks ago he explained to me the purpose of "Facebook" missionaries.They don't find through it. What they do is, when they make a contact with someone, they ask if they could friend them. They then use that "friendship" on facebook to teach the person if they are not available at home, send them facebook events like "Baptism! Saturday at 7:00 PM!" or "Church Tour tomorrow!" or "Learn Family History!"They can also add fellowshippers and include them on a three way message, kind of like a member present lesson.So...no, it's not to mine members' friend lists. 1

Baptisms per missionary?Convert baptisms per stake?Percentage of returned missionaries who are active after 10 years?If haven't defined what the purposes of the changes are, it's impossible to say whether or not they will be effective.
