My father referenced a book to me that his step-son had gifted him for Christmas. I bought a copy for myself. It's entitled, Mapping Mormonism -- An Atlas of Latter-day Saint History. It has received five 5-star reviews at Amazon.com. I would offer aa sixth (despite the fact that my father only get's minor mention, page 190 =).
