The Nehor Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Date someone who's not in the ward? Wait until your term as bishop is over? Not seek to get remarried at all? You're right, a bishop dating women in the ward he presides over could be problematic. But there are other options.I was mostly being facetious. I apologize that I so rarely communicate that kind of thing. I like stirring things up too much. In the Kingdom of God I hope to be the court jester. 1
mnn727 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 (edited) don't all Bishops, married, meet with women behind closed doors though? anything can happen to anyone regardless of their marital status Actually 2 of mine always left the door to the clerks office open slightly and always had someone in there: not listening to the conversation but able to hear anything unusual going on. Both were in the older styly buildings where there was a door between the Bishops office and the clerks office. Edited August 23, 2012 by mnn727
ERayR Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 (edited) A true story. One time many years ago at a time when the bishopric was being changed in his ward my grandfather (a widower) one of the members said to him I hear your going to be the new bishop. My grandfather smiled at him and replied Yes I sure am and I have already picked out a couple of relief society sisters for counselors. Needles to say neither happened.
