For a moment

I had to pause,

And think of life today.

For a moment

Things stood still

A friend had passed away.

For a moment

I did reflect

On family and on friends.

For a moment

I had to ask

What if my life should end?

For a moment

The question raised;

How had my life been spent?

For a moment

The answer came

That now I should repent!

For a moment

I did resolve

That now had come the time.

For a moment

The strength had come,

That before had not been mine.

Then in a moment,

The moment passed

I turned to work again.

In a moment

I'll make the change,

The only question; When?
