Bill “Papa” Lee Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 The storms that rolled though Georgia Friday Night caused damage to my daughter’s home and cars…while she (my baby…although 37 now); and my grandbabies were in the house. A mile away at the school, Macy and Addie attend the roof was ripped off and the portable classrooms were destroyed. They are all safe…but be in prayer for the many who perished and for others who lost everything; it is a mess! We were on the phone with them during the storm, while hiding in our basement…Macy was spending the night with us and wanted to talk to her Mommy. This has been an odd winter and we are not even in Tornado season yet.

Be grateful, very grateful.Also be grateful it isn't tornado season: think of how much worse it would be if the season was upon you.Seriously, though, all the best to your family, and to those who have lost so much. We had a tornado here on the Colorado Plains a few years ago, and, although it jumped over our church building, and only did minor damage, the thought of wind's being so destructive as to eliminate whole towns is terrifying. Glad we have a basement, even if a walk-out.I was called as the Stake Preparedness Specialist yesterday, so this is getting even more important to me, personally. Fortunately, the outgoing specialist was really, really into her calling and there isn't much for me to start: just have to keep the ball rolling uphill.Again, all the best.Lehi

Be grateful, very grateful.I do have mixed emotions about that one.There is the downside that the state will impose taxes to rebuild the youth incarceration center. That is no trivial matter.But, on the whole, getting your granddaughters out of the grasp of the state' and its bureaucrats is a glorious opportunity to teach them truths not part of the government's curriculum.And, outside of school, learning is fun. They may even learn how a tornado comes to be and enjoy the experience of finding out. (If they want to, that is: Family-Centered Education—F-CEd—makes the students responsible for their learning, with guidance from parents and other interested parties, parties who love them, parties like Grandpa and Grandma.).Lehi Edited March 5, 2012 by LeSellers
