Daniel Peterson Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 He's an extremely good and nice man. Since his service as a stake president, incidentally, he's been a mission president in Toronto. And now, for the first time, he's serving as a bishop.
DH Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 One thing that really stood out about him was that even though he was very accomplished and wealthy, he didn't let it go to his head. I remember he had big house, but also that he wore a flannel shirt regularly, and drove around in a station wagon, when he could have easily gotten a fancy sports car. (Not that there's anything inherently wrong with sports cars. ) He wouldn't remember me--I was just one face among many in his stake--but I remember him as a friendly and humble person.
DH Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 And now, for the first time, he's serving as a bishop.Potentially the most challenging calling, eh?
Stargazer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 And for those of you who didn't quite get around to digging into this until weeks after he posted the link, well, the link Prof Peterson posted only goes to the blog itself, not that relevant article. You have to dig back into archives to find the article he is talking about.Well, I won't stand for this kind of nonsense! Other kinds, but not this. So, here's the perma-liink to the article he mentions in the OP:http://dcpsicetnon.blogspot.com/2012/02/alan-ashton-2012-neal-maxwell-lecturer.htmlEnjoy!
