Garden Girl Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Meditation and prayer can be done in the celestial room.I'd ask a question here: Do you think that your prayers would be heard better, more clearly in the House of the Lord, than in your own home? Do you think you'd be able to meditate better, and, perhaps recieve more impressions/revelation from Heavenly Father in the temple than anywhere else? Heavenly father will hear you just as plainly in your home, as He would in the Temples of God.Hello Reuben...While I agree our homes can be our "other holy place" when we are not in the temple... sometimes I just emotionally feel the need to go to the temple to... yes... be closer to the Lord. While my home has been blessed and dedicated, there are still times when the "world" enters there, i.e., neighbors, friends, workmen, etc etc. Sometimes I just need to leave the world behind as I enter the temple... and feel the pure peace and comfort that is found in the House of the Lord. It is different than anywhere else, including our homes. Of course the Lord hears and answers our prayers wherever we offer them, but only away from the world do I feel that full comfort of the Spirit that is found in the temple.GG
LeSellers Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 When a reference is made about a President of the Church or one of the Twelve meditating in the temple, it many times refers to doing so in the Holy of Holies."Many times" I'm sure it does, but the revelation that permitted all worthy men the Priesthood was in a meeting hall where all fifteen prophets could sit and speak. The vision Lorenzo Snow had of Christ telling him to re-organize the First Presidency immediately was in a hallway of the Salt Lake Temple. The Holy of Holies is not the only place sacred events happen in Temples. There is one in every temple.I'm not so sure about this. That any Temple could have a Most Holy Place is beyond question, but from what I have read and observed, there are few Temples that have a "permanent" one—others may have an existing room temporarily dedicated for specific purposes, but that's not the same thing.Lehi
