Jeff K. Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 So are you now admitting that those two lds people resigned, a phrase you were unwilling to use previously? You called it "willingly resigning their posts". That alone speaks to your level of honest context. Enough said there.
Calm Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Logistic question....Does this mean the government of CA will now immediately be required to allow gay unions to be institutionalized as marriages, do they have a choice to wait until the appeal process is finished, or are they required to wait until the appeal process is finished?
Jeff K. Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 No, a stay will be in place until the Supreme Court hears it.
Ron Beron Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I suppose it's not surprising that we disagree that there's "nothing unusual here." I find it quite extradordinary (and exciting!) that precident is gaining for marriage equality to finally on it's way to be federally mandated and recognized by the SCOTUS.Prop 8, though hard for many of us to experience and endure, may prove to be the catalyst for that joyful day to occur. Daniel2The Supreme Court may refuse to hear the case, but if heard and a decision is handed to the supporters of Prop. 8 then it will be a day of lament for all those seeking "marriage equality" in the U.S. While SSM is allowed in many states already I am unsure whether it is met in joy given the fact that a dissolution of such a marriage requires divorce, settlement, and perhaps child custody. I would think that on the average SSM is at least if not more volatile than heterosexual marraige. Be careful for what you wish....you might get it.
