maklelan Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) I've posted a survey on Survey Monkey on general knowledge and opinions about the history and ideology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You can take the survey here. I'm hoping to get as much exposure as possible for this survey, so if you want to post the link on Facebook or your blog or website or wherever, that would be great. I'd rather the source of the survey not be passed along just so the results don't get skewed by assumptions about its purpose. I understand I only get 100 responses per survey, so I'll put up another when this one expires. I'm interested in your thoughts on the survey, including better ways to ask the questions, better questions, or better answers to provide. Edited July 28, 2011 by maklelan

maklelan Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 as long as there is no math involved. No math, and no real difficult questions.
ldsfaqs Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 The last two questions were actually kinda difficult. You're not going to get good results on those with the options you have, because either option has a negative to it, meaning we could go either way depending on the aspect we are thinking and dwelling on.For example, when you ask "Was God once a man". Some might answer yes, because Church doctrine is that Christ who was God was once a man, others might answer yes, literally so. Others might answer no, because they are thinking of the Father, a question that simply hasn't been revealed yet, but maybe has from Christ himself. The last question is also a problem. Forgot what it was now, listening to something.Anyway, unfortunately, these last two questions are clearly the purpose of your survey.

The last two are actually the least important for my survey, but I thought they would be interesting questions to add.
Nathair/|\ Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Maybe you could let people choose multiple options for religion? Does the software let you do that?

Anijen Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I think perhaps how they found the poll. I would assume that you probably have a higher percentage of LDS who knows more about the church and its doctrine if they came from this board.

I would assume that you probably have a higher percentage of LDS who knows more about the church and its doctrine if they came from this board. This is the reason I'm trying to get people to send the link out to as many people as possible. I put it on my facebook page, and the majority of my LDS friends there are not academically oriented.
